Our Story

Van de Weerterheide Farm

On the edge of the Weerterheide nature reserve in Central Limburg lies our small-scale family farm. A place where calm, respect for nature and seasonal craft come together.

The Character of Our Land & the Herd

On our wet and dry grasslands we keep French Charolais cattle: an age-old beef breed known for its calm temperament, strong natural muscling and flavourful meat.

In the grazing season our herd roams freely on nature pastures — partly our own fields, partly surrounding nature land that we graze in harmony with landscape management. In winter the animals find shelter in spacious, open straw barns with plenty of fresh air and natural daylight.

Calves stay with their mother for the first eight months. Apart from mother’s milk, pasture grass, fragrant hay and locally grown grains and beet pulp, our cattle get no artificial additives. Preventive antibiotic use on our farm has been zero for years.

Craft & Respect

Closed Cycle & Nose-to-Tail

Because we rarely buy in animals from outside, the origin of every cut of meat is fully traceable from birth to processing. We sell our beef exclusively direct from the farm through our carefully composed nose-to-tail beef boxes (~12 kg), in which every part of the animal is valued in balance: from tender steaks and stewing steaks to roasting joints and pure mince.

The Story Behind Anne’s Christmas Trees

Driven by the conviction that trees don’t need to be cut down for a few days of celebration, we grow and care for a small range of pot-grown Christmas trees.

Visitors adopt a living tree for December and bring it back to the farm in January, where it is replanted in our field. A rewarding, circular tradition that connects the holidays with nature in a meaningful way.
